Time stops.

I always feel that I take a leap back in time when I find my self in Portugal. Reality hits you as you walk its streets and are amongst its people. Maybe its that dramatic quality that makes me feel right at home.

A walk to Portugal.

Im sure that the connection that I have to this country is because of the closeness to the village where I spent the summers of my childhood. Paths, now more visible, that I once raced through on my bike. Crossing the bridge without looking down and finding, right next to the path, a stone that purpose was to mark the imaginary line between the two borders. On the stone was marked a E for España and a P for Portugal depending on which side of the stone you found yourself. Nowadays the stone can be found half hidden on the side of a paved road. The times have changed and I am nostalgic.

The way to go.

I've never minded driving miles and miles on long journeys. Driving and stopping off randomly at half forgotten or totally abandoned places. These places, for me, are the little reward for the distance travelled.

This is my village!

My village is located on an imaginary line that marks Spain and Portugal. A place to get lost, to forget the world and where the world will forget about you. Many summers as a child were spent there and then as an adult I rediscovered this magical place and I think this place's people rediscovered me too.
